Austin Brown had a perfect start to the season, paving the way for Worth’s victory over Sun-Drop. Brown went 2 for 2 with a single, home run and two walks. He also brought home the win on the mound, striking out 10.

Helping the cause for Worth was Dillon Crouch with three singles and a double and Deon Hanley with two singles.

For Sun-Drop, James Plaisted had three doubles. Trey Burks, Kenton Culbertson, Jesse Haywood, Austin Creasman and Trey Scott also had hits. Splitting the time on the mound for Sun-Drop was Plaisted, who had seven strike outs, and Bryson Holder, who had five strike outs.

Coca-Cola 6 Thompson Ford 0
Coca-Cola pulled away with the victory over Thompson Ford with shut-out pitching from Tyler Branch. Branch struck out nine, pitching six innings of scoreless ball. Helping him out offensively were Gavin Elmore, Justin Crago and Michael Shipp, all with singles.

Splitting time on the mound for Thompson Ford were Cameron Steverson and Josh Majors, who allowed only a combined three hits. Bradley Roepke, Brandon Weddington and Tyler Austell had hits for Thompson.

Stan McNabb 3 Sun-Drop 3

McNabb (1-0) was able to slip by Sun-Drop (0-2) thanks to the tag-team pitching of Matt and Mike Passarello and an offensive display that included seven hits.

Bryson Holder had four good innings on the mound for Sun-Drop, then Austin Creasman held McNabb in a solid relief effort.

Thompson Ford 5 American City 4
Brandon Weddington started and struck out three for Thompson (1-1), then Brad Roepke finished off the game with a six-strikeout relief effort. Roepke and Jordan Moore had hits for the winners.

Kyler Cornelison started for American City (0-1), and the relief work was done by Terrin Maupin. They combined on a two-hitter. Ryan Rippy, Andrew Full and Dustin Garrell had singles for City, and Cornelison added a double.
