American 11&12 Sunday 8/5
Summary by
Inning First Inning: On defense, Sam Tomes got out of the inning with two runners left stranded on base by two strikeouts and a 4-3 Zach Lampkin-to-Alex Butaud grounder. On offense, Trey Burks doubled, Sam Tomes had an RBI single and Bradley Roepke after a single, scoring on a Justin Brown double. Second Inning: On defense, Tomes gave up 3 runs on two hits, a pair of walks and a defensive error, but Justin Brown snagged two pop-fly in right field, and Tomes struck out the clean-up batter. On offense, Ryan Lawson singled, and was scored on a 2-RBI home run blast by Alex Butaud. Trey Burks singled but couldn't score. Third
Inning: On defense, Tomes took care of business with two quick
strikeouts and a sliding catch by Roepke at first base. Offense consisted
only of a stolen first base by fast Justin Brandon on a hit towards third
base. Sixth Inning: Brown pitched well, alas for a solo shot to deep center field. Hickerson made two throws to first, and Roepke snagged a sunlit fly ball. Offense was almost, as Zidan got on base with a single, followed by Lampkin with a double, so Alabama intentionally walked Burks, which left the bases loaded, but Tullahoma couldn't get a winning hit to seal the win.
