Tullahoma American 11&12

Summary by Inning
South Carolina 0 0 1 0 2 3--6
Tullahoma 1 0 2 2 1 1--7

First Inning: On defense, Bradley Roepke struck out two, with Marquel Hickerson tossing a grounder to Zach Lampkin for a 5-4 out. On offense, Zach Lampkin got on base, eventually to steal home when the pitcher didn't look. Trey Burks had a walk, and Roepke had a single.

Second Inning: On defense, Roepke gave up one hit and a walk, but three strike outs stranded 2 runners. On offense, Tullahoma went three-up, three down.

Third Inning: On defense, Roepke gave up a solo home run, but ended the half with two strike outs another Marquel-to-Lampkin putout. On offense Lampkin got on base by getting hit, which accented Trey Burks home run, and Brad Roepke had a double but was left stranded at third.

Fourth Inning: On defense, Roepke struck out two, walked one, and a Roepke-to-Butaud throw ended the inning. On offense, Justin Brandon led off with a double, followed by a Caleb Zidan RBI double, with Lampkin hitting on, with Burks getting an RBI fielder's choice.

Fifth Inning: Zach Lampkin pitched on defense, giving up a solo home run and three hits, and was followed by Justin Brown who gave up a walk, but got a timely strikeout and Lawson-to-Butaud put out to end the innning. On offense, a solo home run by Roepke was all that could be accomplished.

Sixth Inning: Marquel Hickerson took over pitching, and South Carolina took advantage of a pair of base-on-balls, followed by a two-error single to tie the game at 6-6, but another Lawson-to-Butaud grounder ended the inning. On offense, Lawson singled, was moved around by a sacrifice bunt from Caleb Zidan, a grounder by Lampkin, with Trey Burks hitting a deep shot to right field which was mis-played, allowing Lawson to score and end the game 6-7.

Notable plays: Justin Brandon dove for a left-field fly but ended up losing a tooth in the process.

Even with South Carolina evening the score late, Tullahoma never flinched and scored against a good defense.

Tullahoma American plays Alabama Sunday with radio broadcast set for 1:30 CST.
