Game Summary:
First Inning: On offense, Zach Lampkin started the game off with his usual double base hit, but the Tullahoma Americans couldn't capitalize. On defense, Sam Tomes proceeded to shut down Maryville, leaving a runner on first, but striking out three in the meat of the Maryville lineup. Score 0-0

Second Inning:
On offense, Tullahoma's middle batters started off, with Marquel Hickerson ripping a single, followed by a wild pitch stolen base. Justin Brown hit the first of his three doubles, scoring Hickerson and putting himself into an easy score on a wild pitch to Ryan Lawson. On defense, Sam Tomes shut down Maryville's middle batters, striking out three and giving up one hit, leaving the runner stranded. Score 0-2

Third Inning:
On offense, Trey Burks showed his new-found patience, drawing a walk, but Tullahoma couldn't capitalize on this. On defense, Sam Tomes again shut down the top of the Maryville lineup, allowing a rare walk, but striking out their most potent bats. Score 2-0

Fourth Inning: On offense, Justin Brown doubled, followed by Reed Gabriel taking a hit by the pitcher to earn a base. Justin Brandon laid down a beautiful bunt to fill the bases, setting the stage for Caleb "The General" Zidan to rip his first two-RBI single. Justin Brown then stole home on a wild pitch before Zach Lampkin earned first the hard way with a fastball to his ribs, but the inning ended. On defense, Tomes struck out 3 batters with 13 pitches. Score 6-0

Fifth Inning: On offense, Marquel Hickerson started with a long hit which the right fielder couldn't handle. He subsequently stole second on a wild pitch. Ryan Lawson took first as another hit batter before Zidan scored Hickerson on a single to right field. Lawson attempted to steal home on a wild pitch but was caught in the act. On defense, Sammy gave up two small hits, but struck out two and Lawson saved the inning with a 6-3 third out. Score 7-0

Sixth Inning: On offense, with his side still hurting from a previous hit, Lampkin took a 1-2 count to put a home run ball over the center field fence. Brad Roepke hit a long single, followed by another Hickerson single and then yet another RBI double by Brown. Alex Butaud saw an opportunity with a 1-2 count to put a three RBI home run over right field to seal Maryville's fate. On defense, Sam Tomes used his final pitches to strikeout a good middle hitter, and set the stage for Justin Brown to close the game down with a strikeout and a blooper to Hickerson who made the final out throw to first. Score 12-1

All-star plays: Sam Tomes made the bats for Maryville go silent. Batters who were lucky enough to make first base didn't go far. Timely big hits were delivered by the usual variety of players, including Brown, Zidan and Hickerson.
