A’s Start Season With Three Straight Little League Wins

  The defending champion A’s are off to a great start in Tullahoma Little League action with three straight wins in the first week of action.

Thursday’s Games (some game summaries not provided)

A’s 6 Tigers 0
  In a battle of unbeaten teams, Manfred Charboneau, Nick Thompson, Brad Roepke and Sam Tomes had two hits each for the A’s, who got a combined two-hit, 14-strike out pitching performance from Sam Tomes (3 innings) and Brad Roepke (3 innings). Roepke struck out nine batters in his three innings of work.
  Zach Lampkin and Darrick Fisher pitched for the Tigers. Justin Brown and Brett Schmidt had hits.

Cubs 11 Braves 1
  The Cubs got eight runs in the first inning and cruised behind the pitching of Tyler West and Justus Sheffield. Sheffield and Justin Weeks had three hits apiece, and Jordan Sheffield and Jordan McKelvey had two each.
  Casey Allar and James Doughtery pitched for the Braves. Dorian Noble had their only hit in the four-inning game.

Indians 14 White Sox 9
  The Indians scored eight runs in the first inning and won a slugfest at Cascade Field.

Tuesday’s Games (some game summaries not provided)

A’s 23 Orioles 6
  A Little League game with six home runs is about as rare as hen’s teeth, but that’s exactly what the A’s-Orioles provided at Cascade Field Tuesday night. The A’s led 10-6 going to the fourth inning when they erupted for 13 runs to put it away.
  Sam Tomes and Trey Burks hit two homers apiece for the winners, and Alex Butaud and Tyler Fishback homered for the Orioles. Tomes was 5 for 5 at the plate, and Burks was 4 for 6. Nick Thompson also had four hits including two triples, and Brad Roepke, Zach Norris and Manfred Charboneau had three hits each.
  Fishback had three hits for the O’s, and Butaud and Reed Gabriel had two hits each.
