Grayson Grow drove in two runs in the Mets' 4-3 win.

Grayson Grow ripped a sharp single off an infielder’s glove in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Mets to a 4-3 win over a valiant Cubs team Tuesday night in the Tullahoma Little League National League championship game.
Grow’s big hit made a winner of Nick Moore, who had come on to pitch after starting pitcher Brandon Weddington had to be lifted after reaching the maximum 85 pitch count. The Cubs had a similar situation when starter Jordan Sheffield had to be lifted, and Tyler West finished the contest on the mound. It was Grow’s second RBI single of the game, and Moore had a pair of triples for the winning squad. Weddington had an RBI double.
The Mets had a 3-0 lead until the Cubs battled back with a run in the fifth and two more in what would have been their final at-bat in the sixth.
It was the fourth meeting between two of the top teams in the city Little League this season, and the Mets managed to capture three of them. This one, however, puts them in position to battle the A’s for the coveted city championship trophy Friday at 6 p.m. at Waggoner Park.

A’s 5 Tigers 1
Sam Tomes bashed his 11th homer of the season and pitched half the game as the A’s eased past the Tigers in the American League championship game at Waggoner Park Tuesday night.

Sam Tomes (3) is greeted at the plate after bashing his 11th homer.

Brad Roepke also pitched three innings for the winners, and he and Tomes combined for the game’s first run in the first when Roepke doubled and Tomes singled him home.
Tyler Hulgen allowed only one run through 2.1 innings for the Tigers, but Tomes provided what turned out to be the winning run with his third inning homer off a relief pitcher. The A’s went on to score three runs in the inning to take a 4-1 lead.
The Tigers scored in the top of the third after a great at-bat by Brett Schmidt finally resulted in a walk after he fouled off several tough pitches from Tomes. He stole second, went to third on a throwing error and scored in Zach Lampkin’s single.
