Regular Season Champions

The Tullahoma Lady Wildcats claimed the District 8-AAA regular-season championship Thursday night with a 2-1 win over visiting Lawrence County. It was the first time the Lady Cats won the regular-season crown outright, though one team did share the crown with Coffee County several years ago. The Lady Cats scored a run in the first inning when Meghan Brayton led off with a single and wound up scoring on a wild pitch, and they plated another in the second when Stephanie Daniel led off with a double, and Whitney Scott reached on a fielder's choice. Scott wound up scoring on Brayton's two-out single to left. The Lady Wildcats had hits in five of their six turns at the plate and had six hits total.
