Lady Bobcats Lose Heartbreaker, Bobcats Hold on for Win

The West Lady Bobcats suffered a heart-breaking loss at home to North Monday night when the Gatorettes out-scored them 6-0 in overtime for a 41-35 win. West led by 12 midway through the third period before North finished off a big rally with two pressure-packed free throws from Courtney Caroland to tie it and send it to overtime with just over four seconds left.

The Bobcats won and nip-and-tuck game with a 12-6 advantage in the fourth quarter after North carved a three-point advantage early in the period. The victory gives the Bobcats over the South Central Middle School Conference's second- and third-ranked teams, South and North, in consecutive games. West finishes off the regular season with a home game against East Thursday night. The conference tournament gets under way Monday at Coffee County.
