Second-half Rally Falls Shorts for Wildcats Against Raiders

The Tullahoma Wildcats looked flat and a step slower than the Coffee County Red Raiders in the first half of Friday night’s homecoming contest, and they ultimately paid the price for it in spite of a big second-half rally.

The Red Raiders came away with a 55-44 win after building a 20-point lead with less than six minutes to go in the third quarter. At that point, the Wildcats began a furious rally that got it down to three midway through the fourth, but that’s where the comeback stalled. Tullahoma had three scoreless possessions while trailing by three, and the Raiders gathered themselves and pulled away again in the closing minutes.

The loss drops Tullahoma into a dead heat with Lincoln County for sixth place in the district standings and makes it very likely they will open tournament play with a trip to either Columbia or Lawrence County.
