Two Wildcat Wrestlers Guaranteed State Medals
by Dr. Hunter Norris [Photos]

The second day at the Tennessee State Wrestling Championships was exciting for Tullahoma High School to see many of their wrestlers advance further than they ever had at this level of competition. Wesley Foutch, (103lbs) Will Norris (112) Ziad Alboumouna (119) Rene Karteron (125) and Cody Quick (189) all entered the consolation brackets. The first three Foutch, Norris, and Alboumouna made it to the second round of this bracket before they lost close matches.
However, Karteron and Quick are still alive after winning three staight to survive for the Friday semifinals. These two could potentially place as high as third, but still are guaranteed a medal in one of the top six places. This high finish also allows their name to be placed on the hallowed board of State Medalists on the Old West Middle School wrestling gym for all to see.
At the end of the day Tullahoma was standing in 9th place with 55 points.
